How does Volkswagen make some noise in a saturated green car market when it's seven years late to the party?
SOLUTION
To prove the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel is both eco-friendly and fun to drive, Volkswagen created the world's first green racing series: The Jetta TDI Cup
30 young drivers racing 30 identical Clean Diesel racecars, for the chance to win $100,000.
Each race was televised as a 30-minute episode on Speed TV and in a 90-minute documentary, Racing Under Green.
RESULTS
The Volkswagen Jetta TDI woon 2009 Green Car of the Year. Racing Under Green was seen by over 653,000 viewers on TV.
